It depends if they do it for attention or actually struggling with something, other than that, I don't care it's their business lol
as far as im concerned there is no such thing as doing it for attention
`witchthing` def overthinking it and going too much into it but i enjoy going too much into it so
(tl;dr there is definitely a couple but its incorrect to say it when referring to the community as a whole)
alisa said they dont care, i assume it also means there is no large amount of research or time put into thought about the topic by their part which explains believing some do it for attention (which is fair. no one's forced to put much research into things not affecting their life)
and ofc there is by probability SOME CASES so they aren't technically wrong, just how idk, there's some goth or emo people who used "depression" as ammo. and obviously anyone doing something only for attention, specially if its a topic people are actively getting hate-crimed over will ALWAYS be assholes who are unlikeable
but for the larger part of the community; there is no such thing as for attention by any person transitioning considering the plethora of problems and hardship that it can come out of simply wanting to be the normal person they want to exist as, WHILE being comfortable with one's own body/ life style.
i think the origin is from the previous examples i said, like emo's probably got called attention seekers as an insult by people who didn't liked them im guessing?
theres also emos who were simply *annoying* or cringy which could lead to that,,
so im guessing trans people who were unpleasant or annoying are also being insulted as "doing it for attention" out of people disliking them or due to simply being uninformed and by telephone game; have heard/formed a twisted opinion like "doing it for attention" directed towards the whole instead of the very few cases where it happened
not saying that's what they meant btw!!! im sure alisa meant the general and simple "they're good, except the bad people, just like in literally anything else concerning humans"
