`battery` 🤯🤯🤯🤯 This was awesome, very well done! So cool to see in colour 😁 Smooth, so smooth!
`Peyo` , I notice that when viewing on my phone, some animations such as this one, or Wizard Croissant’s baby eaten by plant one, some frames do not appear in the animation playback loop, it only plays a partial animation, freezes, then repeats from where it started. And no consistency in when it starts-stop. Refreshing page, changing phone orientation, or swapping between Mobile and Desktop mode on my phone, just creates a new partial animation, never a complete one. Frames 1-8 for example, or frames 4-12, or 6-15, etc. Just random. I have a screen recording to share, I’ll email to you 👍
Phone by the way is: iphone 12 pro max using safari as browser, iOS 15.2.1, if any of that helps.
`Painovoima` thanks for the find!
I suspect it maybe netscape navig- I mean the safari browser
on windows there is only an ancient version where it doesn't even animate .. and I don't have a mac or iphone so I'm not sure how to test it: can you install any other browser (chrome or fox) on iphone? (if so does it have the same problem?)
(also I checked on android with chrome and it seem to look fine on it.. at least on my phone.. even smoother than on desktop O.o)
Success! Tried as you instructed `Peyo` and it works perfectly on Firefox and Chrome apps on the iphone 😁 Funny, Safari must have caught wind of my downloading other browsers and got jealous, because when I tried again on Safari, it worked 😆 However, when I clicked show frames, then back to show anim, it stopped working on Safari, again, only showing a partial animation.
`Painovoima` thank you for checking it!
hmm.. it must be something dodgy with safari's javascript handling .. sounds like there might not be an error at all either and maybe the timing is just off?
for now I can only guess .. not sure how to fix it yet
haa! that's cool this and Wizard's animation have helped fault find! glad you like, Painovoima! there'd be chutney meta animations everywhere if there was a trick to make them quicker than this one... ooo
so far I found some online Safari emulator thing (turns out that there are people who actually live off providing virtual devices for browser testing)
it seems that the caching in Safari is crap: every time you change an images origin url it handles it as a new resource (and for an animation like this the number of resources just keep increasing)
my theory is that this bug in Safari just keeps eating the resources and eventually causes the weird timing (it's just regular slowdown from too much processing)
