This Strip is Not Safe For Work!

and so the new design is live! some parts are still WIP (e.g. making new thread forms) also a few problems were fixed with the drawing tool so the next major thing for me is to trying to figure out the problems some functionality may have been broken (e.g. passing jams or claiming?) please report them here

also an apology for everyone who registered so far: we don't store the emails yet, the email field in registering was left in from debug 😅

(argh: next major task is to figure out the drawing tools problems .. still no edit comment button )

(markdowns also don't work for comment preview yet)

(there is no dropdown menu on mobile yet .. still wip .. also icons are placholders)

maybe move the timestamp to the top right side (which would also allow to slim the whole thing down a bit ! (also could consider adding a little link to the markdown formatting example page on like the bottom corner under the textbox so people dont need to look it up every time they want to use formatting) also also may want to consider lowering how long you can make your name, its now horrible, but 60 is way more than anyone would need 19 seems to be the most that can fit in the box on my phone so having it somewhere between 15-20 might be wise

I'm not sure letting everyone on markdowns would be wise .. I mean look at you already redesigning the comment section with them :D

first things first  now with that out of the way the nsfw icon needs to match the scale of normal panels, right now it offsets everything (this seems to only affect desktop, mobile seems to be fine did you just fix that i swear it was messed up on mobile too a bit ago) the number for how many stars a panel has when you hover over it isnt visible against a black background or even just a black line that just happens to be where the number is. either giving the number a background to be on or a outline/glow effect would help. an inversion/xor effect would also do the trick, but likely to look ugly especially with a busy background this is maybe more personal preference, but having the user icon next to the panels on the completed page is kinda ugly, itd probably be better to have it be on top of the panel and likely just give it a larger hitbox so its easier to tap/click on on a similar note, id probably have the thumbnails scaled down just a bit on the mobile layout so you could potentionally have two panels next to each other and have less scrolling (youd open the game to see the full size image anyway)

on the desktop layout, either split the buttons to be on two rows, or scale the avatar down cause the header is really unnecessarily tall at the moment with no real purpose

oh you noticed (still broken on mine .. turns out I need to manually trick the browser to refresh the cache when an image is updated and it's still not automated to this day) .. but I guess we need to redesign the NSFW logo anyway yup, I simply forgot to do that (star number outline) (despite that I even got the outlines work in the prototype) so the completed panels section should look like the in-progress/underway section looks now? (it's underway btw because in-progress was kept breaking into two rows no matter what)

hear hear .. easier said than done (whoever invented css/html really didn't want to have more than one thing in a single row)

(so I'm on it but strangely enough it's one of the more difficult things to solve)

another option would just be to not have the icon cause im not sure how important it is to see the creator of the strip shown on the completed game? another thought is that the name of the page it shows on the tab should reflect what strip/thread youre on, rather than being perpetually panelchutney alpha its pretty easy to forget what thread youre on when youre scrolled down i almost commented on the wrong thread

ironically the icon is the easy part (hmm.. maybe only show the icon and date? and only show the name as a hint?) ok that should be somewhat easy to do

oh wait I thought you meant the comment title.. yes the strip titles should be condensed (and will be soon)

new update -- it's a bit more condensed now I moved the like button to the bottom (I insist on having the creator and 'presents' on the top though)

small suggestion, would it be possible to have a completed section for all the panels you do? like you go to your user profile, and it would have all the things you worked on? at some point it would be rlly helpful to have instead of scrolling down to look for everything you've done with a chance of not finding it at all. :,)

absolutely, but it's on the bottom of the list right now so my plan for now is to - fix up the drawing tool (for now I want to add undo/redo, curves and of course to fix the tablet problems) - then finish the completed and in-progress pages - and then come the 'completed by user' 'worked on by user' 'liked by user pages' - and at the very very bottom of the list make the site look good which involves finishing the form pages (e.g. login, make new panel etc. pages) which is surprisingly enough the hardest part for me (css is a hard beast to tame) (and somewhere along the line I should also add editing comments)

update: working on tablet support now..
