In short, because the creator no longer cared for the site. Similar to a lot of drawing sites like Panel Jam, it was largely untended to! Jamdaddy tried to shut the site down but didn't due to the strong vote of the community that it stay up. During the pandemonium, Peyo created Panel Chutney to have somewhere else to do what Panel Jam did! However, there is a possibility that this helped make Jamdaddy choose to shut down Panel Jam, since this site was basically doing what Panel Jam did but generally better at least from a technical perspective! Peyo also, despite being less active here, is not absent and checks in every so often and will respond to emails and the like, fix bugs, and everything else. So don't be afraid to reach out to him, or an Admin or something, if you need to! ^^ Also fancy seeing you Dobby!! ^^

Okay, hear me out. I had a brilliant 100% amazing and very smart idea! Basically, the idea here is for people to explain what they like about the site, what their (theoretic) ideals for the site would be, and what basically draws them to participate on site! So really, this is a group brainstorming session on what we like about panel chutney and collaboration as a whole! That way we can cut to the best portions of the stuff. In theory, this will give us a better idea of what the people want! And hopefully, like-minded individuals can make some fun stuff together! We'd love to hear from you and about what you'd like to see more of on the site! (Apparently I've picked up the royal we somewhere along the line!)

I do think that it is best to create for yourself, because then one person will always be happy ^^ and that's the only one you can control! Hi there! This is just a quick forum where you can drop your ideas below for creating activities and such (on or off site) for us artsy individuals to work on together to create a more active and friendly atmosphere on the site! ^^ Feel free to suggest below!

`satan` Well that sounds about right! I don't remember the specifics, but someone put our site on the forums of drawception, which actually was probably where 70%~ or so of our player influx has come from (not counting the initial Panel Jam users) but yes, this site DOES get daily activity, however, I think we only get a few panels a day. It's not as empty as it feels though I agree it could be nice if it told you how many users had checked in recently or something, but with the feed, there is a way to check what's been added (and when) so that can give you a sense of the timing. The biggest thing is if you want the site to be more active, draw, pass you arts, make friends and do all the things. I've considered doing some sketch comics on the site, where people's characters could have some cute little interactions. That might help with the daily dose we're getting, but I haven't made up my mind whether to do it or not. I suppose this is as good a time to see if anyone would have any interest in that idea now. feel free to throw a vote in the poll below and I might give it a whirl. `Crazyhead` I mean that's certainly not a bad idea, however, Peyo has a bit on his plate (As he did say) so I'm not sure right now would be the best time for him to take on an advertising campaign. We actually have a decent enough player base right now (it feels like to me. Maybe on the smaller side, but good enough) so I think that attracting more people should come secondarily to attracting the RIGHT sort of people. (I think we can all agree attracting more trolls or something, even if they're easy to limit, is not what anyone really wants) Anyhow, just some thoughts! ^^ If you want to share the site with your friends I think that's a great idea! I mean, I suspect a grass-roots advertising effort will beat out a singular larger effort in the long run anyways.

As to my lack of participation, well things happen and I get busy! X3 But more than that, I don't actually have really any deersire to use this site like a social media! I don't really want others to admire my work! I want to engage in creativity with others! For me, that is the whole point of the site! ^^ And I have tried to make comics that can engage with other users to little success! Which is fine, but I can't really doe much about the state of the site! The climate currently seems very geared towards showing off art and creating art challenges! Like 'draw this in your style' or other such things. And again, that's okiiie! ^^ But for me, the general allure of drawing art of the site has deercreased! So I can pop in and maybe draw something every so often, but what I love about drawing with others isn't really on display here in recent months! If someone wants to do a fun little collaborative comic together, I'm totally down for it! But the key word is something 'collaborative' that is what I enjoy! I'll throw a couple thoughts down here, because why not ^^ Firstly, I'm so sorry you're having trouble finding ways to engage The Metal Chair that's unfortunate to hear. Have you looked through the older comics? I think there's a lot of good inspiration there. I don't know what everyone's reasons for low amounts of activity on the site are, but I will share mine just to shed a little light on the situation ^^ For me, the biggest reason I loved Panel Jam and other sites like that wasn't doe to tools, skill or anything else. My primary draw... Ehehe yes I mean draw! But primarily what has drawn me to sites like this is the collaborative aspect in drawing and creating comics! I love creating WITH others! I love making friends and showing interactions and weaving stories and other nonsense like that! Hehe X3 But, and this really isn't a dig at anyone, I feel like there isn't any of that collaborative aspect on this site! Or exceedingly little! And I couldn't tell you whether it's old artists leaving, new ones coming in or any of it ^^ But the climate of the site HAS changed! So instead of a bunch of story-telling comics with fun characters and interesting plots, or even just some good gags, I mostly feel like I'm looking at an art social media when I look at Panel Chutney these days! With art challenges, and people sharing art they made and things like that. And I don't really think that has to be a bad thing! ^^ If people are enjoying the site, I think it's going great! But for me, who is on here to create collaborative works with other artists, this site hasn't been scratching that itch! So I don't really doe much here anymore because the stuff I loved to doe isn't exactly very prevalent here! And yes, you may be asking "Well Miss complainey deer, why don't you create more of the stuff you want to see here then?" My answer to that... Well I'll put it in another message here so I don't run out of space XP
