by all means! also I should mention: ascii art only really works with the default font (bpmonoregular) which we also use for the comments (it's a special monospaced font) (using the other fonts for this you might get amusing results)

I'm glad you guys are satisfied! of course from my perspective it's a bit different: web tech seems to be built on nothing but glue and prayer and I'm in a constant distress about it .. so many things are out of my control: anything could break anytime and this could mean that someone might lose a lot of work .. it's just such a responsibility 😓

also as the strip suggests you are a full member now and can do as you please (upgrade from limited kind of happens silently)

funnily enough these stories write themselves now: it's out of my hand what happens next O_o groups are a bit underused still .. (I don't want to force them but I'm worried they became another hidden feature.. maybe I should move it to a different tab? also I'm intrigued what fart knockers could be.. )

(just an update: we have multiline now - in retrospect I should have added the panel about that to this strip)

for now I added some public domain fonts to select from (it's tricky: there doesn't seem to be a function to check which fonts are installed on a machine to select from -- these new fonts are in the site css and should be available for everyone) if you have a favourite font you wish to use let me know and I'll see if I can include it somehow!

ok to sum it up for those of you out of the loop: - it seems that people get randomly logged out lately (cause unknown) - if this happens during drawing the backup fails and also submit will fail - if you have a local copy of your drawing then I will be able to hack it in manually

that's good news (works as intended) I also added a save image buttons under options and I recommend using it before submitting (just in case)

yes it forces the backup (otherwise it only saves every 30 or so painting operations -- also its supposed to make a backup right before submit in case it fails -- that is why i suspect the net thing) this seemingly new trend of people getting logged out randomly has me worried though

also there is another unorthodox workaround I just thought of: make sure to make a screenshot before hitting submit then I can still hack in the new panel by just uploading the image

one strange workaround could be to regularly reload the site: for a reload it forces to do a backup and this way you can abuse the backup system and make the reload to work as a save button (but in practice this will only let you know if things gone wrong earlier -- also your undo will be lost so keep that in mind)

unless I know the root cause I cannot do much.. afaik you are using some standard browser Chrome or Firefox right? I mean if you are using some non-standard one the cause could be that it doesn't agree with the paint tools code and it's simply a bug and I could look into it and try to fix that but if it was caused by your net going down there is not much I can do (perhaps I could add a warning when the backup fails? .. but that's not much help all it would tell you that you might as well just stop drawing, I don't really have an idea on how to save drawings in this case )

I see some backups with your id among the files .. but it doesn't seem to be finished.. (seems like an initial sketch) could it be possible that your internet went out during drawing somehow? (last time something like this happened that was the case) so I'm afraid only part of it (a very early stage) can be recovered

`TeeEffDee` no worries, it seems we are thinking about the same thing so right now the tables look something like this: STRIP IMAGE and it would be STRIP IMAGE FRAME (not exact names) the real hard part will be making the editor in javascript for it

and now the mentions for emoji names got broken again.. this never ends ˙◠˙

unfortunately they do -- it was only meant for moderating after all I sort of have an idea on how to solve this.. I think the problem is that I was thinking of solving this the hard way so instead of changing the panel order and renaming files and so on I'm thinking of adding a new animation category for big animations and the idea is that the frames and panels would be fully independent of each other for those so something where you could reuse panels multiple times (and no doubt something like this was probably suggested before and I forgot -- and probably how I should have done it in the first place) anyway this would solve my problem with editing and new panels and would not break backwards compatibility either.. I'm still not sure what is the best way to store the frame data for this -- it's still in the planning stages
