if you set it to anim after an image is drawn the layer backup is already lost for that image (by default the layers are deleted for finished images because of storage concerns) and the drawing tool is not smart enough to figure that out yet and just loads blank in this case (so until I finish up the edit image feature hacking is the only option)

for now the workaround is to set it to animation at first and back to normal after you are finished (option for editable coming soon) btw I can hack the image and re-upload it if you want

`TeeEffDee` the procedure itself has not changed (only the interface a bit) I'll just write it down here for now: any strip can be used as the backdrop you can use a panel from the same strip as well Backdrop Strip ID is the id of the strip (from the url) Image Index is the panel from the strip to use Start Frame the first animation frame also the very first panel in a strip is always used as the thumbnail
